CELLSEARCH® Lab Services

Your patients look to you to guide them through their journey. CELLSEARCH® can provide you with a detailed map of the road ahead.

Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) analysis holds incredible promise as these cells, shed from a tumor into the bloodstream, are detectable in peripheral blood and reflect in real time the tumor biologic progression with all its heterogeneity.

The CELLSEARCH® Circulating Tumor Cell (CTC) enrichment and enumeration test is a valuable tool for use in patient management that provides a standardized assessment of CTC counts that help to inform clinical decisions—all with a simple blood draw. It is the first and only clinically validated, FDA-cleared blood test for enumerating CTCs from patients with metastatic breast, prostate*, or colorectal cancers.

The CELLSEARCH® CTC Test provides:

  • An early assessment of patient prognosis
  • Detection of changes in tumor evolution throughout treatment.
  • The most accurate assessment of prognosis in cases where CTC and imaging are discordant in patients with metastatic breast cancer, and in cases where CTC and PSA are discordant in patients with metastatic prostate cancer

How Does it Work?

Ordering a CTC enumeration test is simple. Request a portal account (HCPs only), and once it’s set up, you’ll be able to request test kits online. The collection boxes will be shipped to your location and include everything you need, including the CellSave Sample Collection Tubes, barcoded labels, shipping materials, and detailed instructions. For more detailed instructions, click here. Most results are available within two days from the date we receive a patient’s sample in our laboratory.

*Metastatic prostate cancer patients were defined as having two consecutive increases in the serum marker prostate-specific antigen above a reference level, despite standard hormonal management. These patients are commonly described as having androgen-independent, hormone-resistant, or castration-resistant prostate cancer.
